At Intellect Preparatory Academy, we honor every student as an individual learner within a school community.
Our Story
Intellect Preparatory Academy is a nonprofit Christian STEAAM school serving a dynamic learning community of students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade in Suffolk, Virginia and the surrounding region. From the beginning, IPA was built to close a gap we saw in education: schools that were strong academically but silent on faith, or strong in faith but light on rigorous science, technology, and math. We built a school where both could stand together.
IPA also carries a distinct heart for the whole community — alongside our Pre-K–12 program, we provide after-school and summer programming for students experiencing homelessness, because we believe access to a quality Christian education shouldn't depend on a family's circumstances.
Mission
Intellect Preparatory Academy exists to educate the whole child — spiritually, intellectually, and practically — through a Christ-centered STEAAM curriculum that prepares students for college and for a life of purpose.

To be the leading Christian STEAAM preparatory school in Hampton Roads and northeastern North Carolina, known for graduates who lead with both conviction and competence.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the foundation for how we teach, lead, and disciple students. We believe every student is created in the image of God with unique gifts worth developing. We believe education should form character alongside intellect, and that faith and academic excellence are not in tension — they reinforce one another.
Why “Agriculture” Is Part of Our Curriculum
Agriculture teaches what a textbook cannot: patience, stewardship, and the discipline of tending something over time before you see the harvest. Rooted in the biblical call to steward the earth (Genesis 2:15), our Agriculture pillar gives students hands-on responsibility — from campus gardens to sustainability projects — that builds character alongside curriculum.
