Admissions Process

Accepting applications for the 2024  school year starting August 5, 2024.

Visiting Our Campus

  1. Family Campus Tour:
  • To schedule an individual tour, please contact Director of Admissions.
  • Individual families will meet one-on-one with the Director of Admissions and Principal to discuss the philosophy, curriculum, learn more about the school’s educational program and an opportunity to talk specifically about the unique talents and interests of their child. During the visit, families will tour the campus and facilities, and observe faculty and students in session.  Families and potential students are encouraged to attend.

2. Open House:

  • Small group tours of the campus and an overview of the school’s philosophy and program.

3. Interviews:

The individual families will be interviewed by the Director of Admission and Headmaster.

4. Submit Application

Applying to Intellect Preparatory Academy:

Submit Application and all required documentation

  • Parents should submit a completed Application for Admission and Transcript Release Form.  A non-refundable fee of $50 is required with each application, (income-based waivers are available) to the Admissions Office.

The following items must be submitted:

  • Parent questionnaire for all grades
  • Daycare to PreK: Student assessment and records of release form.
  • Kindergarten to First Grade (K-1):  One teacher recommendation and records of release form.
  • Second Grade through Fifth Grade (2-5):  Two teacher recommendations, one writing sample, and records of release form.
  • Sixth Grade to Twelfth Grade (6-12): Two teacher recommendations, one writing sample, and records of release form.

Application Deadlines:

  • Parents are encouraged to make application for their children early in the school year preceding the year of matriculation. Every year, Intellect Preparatory Academy enrolls new students at almost every grade level.  The largest numbers of new students typically enter Intellect Preparatory Academy at Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, grade six and grade nine.
  • Priority application deadline is May 2, 2022.
  • After May 14, applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed on an on-going basis as availability permits.

5. Admissions Testing:

  • All student applicants are required to complete entrance tests/screenings.
  • Admission Testing/Screening Dates for the 2022 School Year have passed.  Please call ……..to schedule testing.

 6. Student Shadow:

  • Student shadowing is only open to students who have submitted an application. Shadow experiences should be scheduled through the Office of Admissions.  Student shadowing allows a student to spend a day with future classmates from their current grade level.
  • Please call the Director of Admissions to set up a student shadowing date.

7. Admissions/Acceptance Committee Review:

  • Acceptance is based upon the evaluation of the student’s interview, entrance test/screening, academic transcript, overall school record, and available space. The factors that will determine admissions to Intellect Preparatory Academy include:
  • An evaluation of the students’ personal qualities and potential contribution to the school community.
  • Evidence of parental cooperation and parental support.
  • The student’s readiness to learn and assessment scores and evidence of the student’s potential for success in our school.
  • Once the admissions file is complete and evaluated by the Admissions committee, parents of accepted students will receive an offer of admission for their child.
  • If space is not available, then the student’s name is placed in the waiting pool.
  • Admissions decisions are typically made by mid-April.

8. Enrollment:

After being accepted an enrollment letter will be sent out to all new students. Upon enrollment, up-to-date physical and medical records must be provided. Tuition assistance is available to those who qualify based on need.
